The innovative green auto shops program is a public-private partnership with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and includes the Automotive Service Association of Arizona, Automobile Association America-Arizona and City of Mesa.

 

Participating shops make a significant environmental impact by eliminating or reducing hazardous waste going to landfills and diverting potentially contaminated water from unprotected storm drains and waterways. The shops examine their front-office processes, parts-management programs, housekeeping, parts cleaning and degreasing, fluid recycling and energy-use policies to reduce or prevent pollution.
